Nicholas Loulloudes is an Information Technology Professional and Entrepreneur from Nicosia, Cyprus.

Professional Activities

He currently holds the position of Head of R&D at TRG Research and Development LTD. Previously he served as a Senior Server and Infrastructure Developer at PointRF Systems LTD. In the past, Nicholas has held various academic positions, among those, Visiting Lecturer at the University of Nicosia (UNic), Cloud Infrastructure Manager and Senior Researcher at the University of Cyprus (Laboratory for Internet Computing).

Nicholas entrepreneurial endeavours are highlighted by the co-founding of Pivot Logic LTD in 2015, where he currently serves from the Board of Directors. Moreover, his ideas have been presented in Innovation and Entrepreneurship competitions including EIT Climate-KIC ClimateLaunchpad and Digital Champion.

He has a long involvement in the Eclipse open-source ecosystem as a Committer and currently leads the Cloud Application Management Framework (CAMF) technology project.

Research Activities

Nicholas main research interests evolve around the areas of Cloud Computing and Intelligent Transportation Systems. He participated in numerous EU-funded science projects, publishing his work in leading scientific conferences and journals, while funded by acknowledged international bodies (EU FP6, FP7, Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation), as well as world-renowned organizations (Amazon).

Education

Nicholas holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus (2015), an M.Sc. in Communications Networks and Software from the University of Surrey (2006) and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Intercollege (Cum Laude, 2005).

His Ph.D. thesis titled “Distributed Traffic Information Systems Based on V2X Communication in Large-Scale Urban Environments” was completed under the supervision of Professor Marios D. Dikaiakos.
